This is the first edition, not one of the many later editions that were produced after WW1 and in the early years of WW2. The book includes details of the use of the Lewis Gun in trench warfare, and also mentions its use by the newly created RAF. It is illustrated with photographs, diagrams and fold-outs.
The Lewis Gun was manufactured during the First World War by both B.S.A. of Birmingham and the Savage Arms Co. of New York. The Complete Lewis Gunner is a practical guide to the handling and maintenance of the Lewis Gun as used by the RFC, RNAS, RAF and the British Army during WW1. Full of fascinating information and fully illustrated, this book will tell you all you need to know about the workings of the .303 Lewis Gun. The text and illustrations are in good condition, with some general signs of use, and some marks. There is an ink signature of ‘A. N. E. Young’ on the inside of the front cover.
