A rare 1917 edition of the WW1 British Army handbook Defensive Measures Against Gas Attacks. This manual would have been issued to officers in the front line. It includes detailed advice on Gas warfare, tactics, and equipment. Subjects covered include: nature of gas attacks, gas projectiles, poison gas, chlorine, phosgene, organisation of gas defences, officers duties, personal anti-gas equipment, respirators, protectyion of shelters, weapons and equipment, gas alarms, action during a gas attack, gas cylinders, gas helmets, anti-gas fans, Vermorel sprayers, cavalry equipment, tunnelling, signals, respirator drill. Illustrated with line drawings.
Condition:
In good condition. The card cover is in good condition, with some signs of wear and use, and some numbers written on the rear cover. The stapled binding is good and secure, although the original staples are rusty. The text is in good condition, with some creased corners and a few marks.
