An original WW2 Lee-Enfield Mark III (SMLE) Rifle handbook, published by Gale & Polden around 1940. This fold-out format booklet is a concise guide to the handling and mechanism of the Short Magazine Lee-Enfield as used by the allied armies during WW1 and WW2. The booklet includes excellent diagrams of the parts and mechanism of the rifle. The SMLE was the standard service rifle of the British army and allied forces throughout WW1 and at the start of WW2. It was gradually replaced by the Lee-Enfield No.4 during WW2.
In very good condition. The card cover is in very good condition with minor signs of use. The stapled binding is secure, although the original staples are rusty. The text and illustrations are in very good condition.
