An original British Army Range-Finder training handbook published in 1931. Training in the use of the Infantry Range-Finder is illustrated with diagrams, line drawings, and plates. It covers all the elements of training in the use of the standard issue Barr & Stroud type infantry range-finder. This type of range-finder would have been used in conjunction with the .303 Vickers machine gun, which was the standard British Army heavy machine gun throughout both the First and Second World Wars. This volume is a comprehensive handbook of all aspects of range-finder use. Subjects covered include: theory of range-finding, operation of range-finders, training in their use, taking ranges of moving objects, testing the range-finder, packing and transport.
Condition:
In very good condition. The boards are in very good condition, with only very minor signs of use. The binding and hinges are good and secure. The text, illustrations, and plates are in very good condition.
